Wabash bus crash claims life of Rossville Woman

WABASH — A woman was killed in a crash involving a school bus in Wabash County Monday afternoon.
The accident happened around 4 p.m., at the intersection of US 24 and County Road 700W, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.
The preliminary crash investigation revealed the school bus driven by 69-year-old George Howard, of Wabash, approached US 24 and stopped before then traveling across US 24 and into the path of a Dodge Ram driven by Tina J. Tague, 54, of Rossville.
Tague was transported via medical helicopter to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.
A front-seat passenger of the Dodge was also transported via medical helicopter with serious injuries and is currently in stable condition.
One child on the bus suffered serious injuries and was transported via medical helicopter to an area hospital.
Four children on the bus sustained minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
The news release did not indicate who was at fault or whether any traffic citations were issued.
The investigation is ongoing, but police do not believe either alcoholic beverages or narcotics were involved in the crash.
Others responding to the crash included the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office, Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Roann Town Marshal’s Office, Wabash City Police, Wabash Fire Department, Noble Township Volunteer Fire Department, Wabash County EMA, Wabash Fire EMS, Parkview medical helicopter, Lutheran medical helicopter.
