The Salvation Army of Warsaw's food pantry is getting very low on food. We have no meat to give away and canned goods are about all gone. For the last two weeks we have seen an average of 50 families a day looking for food assistance. Last summer we helped an average of 170 families a month for the months of June and July we helped over 330 families each month. Donations accepted at the Warsaw Salvation Army Community center on East Arthur Street.

The 56th Annual Mizpah Shrine Charity Horse Show is Friday, September 17 through Sunday, September 19 at the Mizpah Shrine Horse Grounds in Columbia City. Friday night the gates open at 4:30pm with the Wild West Review at 7pm. Saturday the gates open at 7am for the Horse Show and the Wild West Review begins at 6pm. Admission is $5.00 and proceeds go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The American Heart Association is having The Start! Heart Walk on Saturday, September 18 at Winona Lake Park. The walk begins at 9am and 1-mile and 3-mile walks are available. They will have vendor booths and the children's area will open at 8:30am.
