Warsaw

September 7th, the United Methodist Women of Warsaw are holding a Nelson's Port-a-Pit Chicken fundraiser, from 10am to 1pm. They will be located in the Market Street parking lot of the First United Methodist Church in downtown Warsaw. All proceeds will be used for mission work, cost is $5 for chicken or pork chops.

Tuesday,September 9th, the Tippecanoe Valley Football Parents Group are hosting a fundraiser at Hacienda. 20% of the days sales benefit TVHS Football! We'll see you there!

FAMILY SAFETY DAY-    Saturday, September 20th from 10am-2pm at Warsaw's Center Lake Park Pavilion. Activities will focus on safety tips and information, with a strong emphasis of making learning fun for the whole family! Among the activities planned are: Safe Assured kids ID kits containing digital photo ID cards and a mini-CD encrypted with personal data, provided by the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist’s Club; dental screenings by Dr. William Myers; Build & Grow activity kits provided by Lowe’s; pet micro chipping provided by the Animal Welfare League (small fee involved); Dress Like a Lineman photos, A.C. Sparks safety show, and bucket truck rides provided by Kosciusko REMC. Other activities will include a bicycle rodeo, make-and-take first aid kits, impaired driving simulation goggles; and the fire safety Save-A-Life trailer, hazards obstacle course and much more!

Winona Lake

The Winona Lake Area Light The Night Walk for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will celebrate its tenth anniversary on Thursday, September 18th at Rodeheaver Auditorium. Light The Night is an annual evening walk which raises funds to find a cure for blood cancers and to provide a better quality of life for patients and their families. Join us as we honor and commemorate lives that have been touched by blood cancer and celebrate A Decade of Difference. Last year, more than 700 participants gathered at Rodeheaver Auditorium and raised over $50,000 for the LLS mission and this year we plan to do the same. Anyone is welcome to participate in this free, casual one-to-two mile walk. Registration, festivities and refreshments on the day of the walk begin at 5 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 p.m. Help us in our fight against blood cancers as we “light the night” with hope. Syracuse


Saturday, September 20th, the Wawasee Kiwanis is hosting a Mystery Dinner, titled: Mystery of the Tanzanian Ruby.  Proceeds benefit the Kosciusko County Habitat for Humanity Syracuse-North Webster Initiative. September 20th, the Calvary United Methodist Church, on State Road 13, is hosting a Community Supper! Join us from 5pm to 7pm for stiver stew, corn bread and apple crisp. Cost is $5 per person and $1 for kids under 10. Everyone is welcome and carry-outs are available.

The last Thursday of every month, the Alzheimer's Association Support Group for Caregivers and other Dementia Victims, meet at 2pm at the Syracuse Methodist Church on 801 S. Huntington Street. For more information, call 1-800-272-3900.

North Webster

Wednesday, September 10th at 6:00 p.m, Rusty the Magician will be performing his "Dimension of Illusion" at the North Webster Community Public Library . This is free for all-ages!

Thursday, September 13th, is the 4th annual Charity Dog Walk. The walk begins at the North Webster Elementary School, 210 E. Brooklyn Street,  from 2pm-4pm. Columbia City

On September 26-27, bring the family out to the "54th annual Mizpah Shrine Charity Horse Show".The event will take place at the Mizpah Shrine Horse Patrol Grounds, on Rt. 9 North, in Columbia City.The Horse Show is open to all breeds, types, and sizes of horses and ponies, and all ability levels of horses and riders.  Hunter, dressage, and other class competition, with all proceeds to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children. The event is fun for the entire family, the charity includes a Wild West Review on Friday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m., as well as good food and vendors.

Leesburg

Sunday, September 14th, the Leesburg Lions Club, are hosting a chicken BBQ. Carry-out chicken will be available from 11am to 12:30pm at the Lessburg Community Building. All proceeds benefit the Josh and Cori Olinger family, who are victims of a recent house fire.

Sunday, September 14th is the 64th annual Poor-Handmaids-of-Jesus-Christ Bazaar. From 10am to 4pm enjoy food and games for the whole family! Located just 7 miles West of Plymouth and 2 miles S. of U.S. 30 on Union Rd.
